Demarquette has brought out a tempting Easter selection this year, and when I heard about their Milk Chocolate Chickens filled with Caramel, I couldn't resist. For £4.50 you get three beautifully hand-painted hens flavoured with coconut, passionfruit, and apricot.
The green hen is has shreds of desiccated coconut mixed in with the caramel. These pieces have a tendency to get stuck in your teeth, but adds an interesting texture.
The orange hen is filled with delicate notes of passions fruit. The smooth caramel is made from British beet sugar, and has just the right level of sweetness.
The apricot in the red hen is equally subtle, but definitely complements the creamy milk chocolate shell.
