Asda has teamed up with Leiths School of Food and Wine to produce an exclusive range of Extra Special chocolate bars priced at 1.29.

The other day I bought their Ivory Coast Milk Chocolate With Caramel, which contains 33% cocoa solids along with salted caramel chips inside.

I was surprised that his was the only milk chocolate bar from this Rainforest Alliance approved range. Most of the others are varying degrees of dark chocolate, with the exception of one white chocolate bar.

Although it does not stand out as 'extra special', it is certainly a very competent bar; the saltiness stops it from being too sweet, but also makes it moreish. I like that it has pieces of caramel rather than just flavoured with it, because it adds extra texture.
