The Picnic Bar by Cadbury is an unusual looking confectionery. It was hailed in Australia during the 1970s as 'more like a banquet than a picnic' but in the 2000s is touted as 'deliciously ugly'.
The Picnic comprises a wafer encased in caramel, with puffed rice on three sides of the caramel and then coated in milk chocolate.
India and the UK brands have raisins in them. Wikipedia
says there are other versions of them, and that a version of ice cream has been released.
They are not as sickly sweet as other bars - the wafer and rice puffs seeing to that. They have a nice nougat taste and are chewy.
I am not a fan of these, but they are agreeable - and my family likes them.
Available in regular and treat sizes. I prefer the treat sizes, as a convenience measure, for taking in the car for the kids or on other outings.
