Darrell Lea Nougat Egg

Legend has it that a brightly colored nougat bird lays nougat eggs around Australia every Easter and I was lucky enough to find one in an old hollow gum tree. What's a nougat bird, I hear you ask? Well, I haven't seen one but its egg tasted mighty fine.



Well, actually mum gave one of these curious things to me for Easter and I had to share it with the kids. The outside of the Darrell Lea's famous Nougat Egg was covered in sweet and delicious milk chocolate, while the inside was filled with fluffy nougat with chewy desiccated coconut mixed in. The Australian chocolate company, Darrel Lea have been producing chocolate since 1927, so they know a thing or two about making chocolate.
