Hotel Chocolat Neapolitan Salted Caramel Cheesecake Slabs

Hotel Chocolat Neapolitan Salted Caramel Cheesecake Slabs

Among Hotel Chocolat's Selector range, the do mini 100g slabs. each Selectors are £3.50 each or £2.95 each when buying three or more. On this occasion, however, I got them half price in their summer sale.

The slabs I chose were the Neapolitan and the Salted Caramel Cheesecake. of these, the latter was by far my favourite. A mix of milk and white chocolate studded with soft dark cookie pieces, it was absolutely to die for. The white chocolate was sweet and creamy, made all the richer with the addition of mascarpone and yoghurt. The milk chocolate was irresistible with its tangy caramel - made all the more crave-worthy by a pinch of salt.

Although the ingredients are there, I would not say that it reminded me of a cheesecake. If anything, it was more like a brownie. A very thick, luxurious brownie.

The Neapolitan was also nice, but not as distinct in taste. It does live up to its namesake though, reminding me of those tri-flavoured ice cream tubs of chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. The strawberry doesn't really come through though; it is only made with a small percentage of strawberry powder, and doesn't taste much different from the plain white chocolate.
