Hotel Chocolat Taste of Spring

I got Hotel Chocolat's Taste of Spring as a free gift, after spending a certain amount of other Easter products. Although I was more than happy to get the gift box for nothing, I would not be willing to pay its RRP of £11.

Inside, you will find six truffles and two batons. The batons are made from their signature 40% milk chocolate, and was definitely the best from the selection. Thick and creamy, they are just made to be sucked.

Out of the bow tie bunnies, the milk caramel was my favourite. It was mellow, but not too sweet. The dark chocolate bunny had a lovely toffee flavoured filling, and the white bunny was filled with a white chocolate ganache that fits Hotel Chocolat's 'less sugar' mantra.

The chocolate cross bun, however, was excellent, with a warming mix of spices; nutmeg was particularly prominent.

Their Billionaire shortbread is a house favourite, and can be bough separately as a pack of six. The final truffle is hard to describe. It had a bit of an apple tasting ganache, but over the top what appeared to be a very thin marzipan paste. I'm not quite sure, but it was tasty all the same.
