Chuao Pop Corn Pop Chocolate Bar

Venezuelan cocoa beans are some of the finest in the world, hence my excitement when I spotted this bar of goodness in Eighth Day health food store.

Although this chocolate isn't strictly a health food (at all), it is artisanal and innovative and that's what Eighth Day stands for, and what piqued my interest.

The combo of buttery, salty popcorn and rich chocolate is a winner - and that's the idea behind this bar from Venezuelan chocolate maker Chuao Chocolatier.

It blends creamy milk chocolate with puffed whole grains, toasted corn chips, popping candy (think Pop Rocks) and a sprinkle of sea salt.

This is definitely a South American 'thing' because the UK has only recently come across this kind of treat.

I found this bar in WholeFoods, but you can also buy it online from the Chuao website for £4.00 a pop.
