Lindt HELLO My Name is Strawberry Cheesecake

Now I don't like cheesecake, not one bit, I find it a rather combination of things which should forever stay seperate: cheese and cake. Firstly the word cake is used inappropriately for it implies a sort of spongey characteristic associate with the word cake, but cheese has no sponge of any sort. Instead it is merely crushed biscuits topped with a flavoured cream cheese. Horrible stuff.

With the above in mind you might be wondering how I feel about the Lindt Strawberry Cheesecake bar. Well, chocolate, strawberries, and the combination of cheesecake is an altogether different matter, so different in that this Lindt bar is actually quite wonderful.



Most people I know have wished cheesecake would come in any easier form, a bar if you will. Well now, they can enjoy it in such a form because Lindt have done a superb job of turning a dream into a reality.

The 100g bar has one the most fun packaging, with Lionel Richie's song "Hello" written on the front: "Hello...is it me you're looking for?" It made me giggle and will certainly appeal to older members of the public who know of the song.

Once unwrapped this bar is different to the others; it has hearts and kisses pressed into alternate squares, with the word Lindt written on the others. Otherwise it is a small chocolate bar, domed, and filled with the strawberry 'cheesecake' filling.

Instead of cream cheese, Lindt has used a light quark filling, which is a low-fat soft cream cheese, which works perfectly with the milk chocolate. The strawberry factor is found with the addition of small strawberry pieces studded throughout the chocolate bar.

My mother absolutely loves strawberry cheesecake and I had to prize this from her fingers when she'd discovered the chocolate in the cupboard. This bar is quite light, so it's very easy to eat - addictive in fact. I could have quite easily eaten half of the bar, but I decided to save myself some because I knew I'd want some at a later date.
