Willies Cacao Apple and Brandy Caramel

Now I'm used to finding Willie's Cacao products in Waitrose, WholeFoods or online, I certainly didn't expect to find a box of Willie's Brandy Apple Caramel Black Pearls when I was shopping in T K Maxx.



Priced at £3.99 I couldn't help but buy them, and eagerly take them home to give them a try. Firstly, the title isn't wrong: they are very much like little black 'pearls', as Willie so aptly names them. Thankfully, however, they aren't rock-hard, but the inner apple-caramel-brandy in encased in a dark Rio Caribe (72%) shell. They have a nice crunch when you initially pop one into your mouth, which gives way to a supremely silky, slightly alcoholic apple and caramel filling.

They are the perfect party-guest treats to have on the table, for the brandy is a nice surprise to an unsuspecting guest.

On Willie's Cacao website they're priced at £5.99, so you're making a £2.00 saving if you can find them in your nearest T K Maxx.
