Beautiful hand made chocolates

David Jones Food Halls is the Australian equivalent to Harrod's in London. In saying this, David Jones Food Halls do stock some Harrod's food products. Furthermore, no David Jones Food Halls are nowhere near as elegant as Harrod's, yet there are some great, unique and quirky chocolate products to buy and enjoy here.

On the David Jones Girls Night Out event that occurs every May, their Food Halls bring out some quality chocolate tastings in abundance.

Godiva chocolates

The most well known quality chocolate product stocked at David Jones Food Halls would have to be Lindt. Sometimes you will see a promotional person dressed up in white chef's clothes (no different to their in-store maitres) handing out milk chocolate Lindor balls.

As at the time of writing this, David Jones Food Halls have just made space for all of their Easter stock, including those awesome Lindt gold bunnies. They also sell their own range of Easter egg products.

The hand made chocolate treats in their Sydney City Food Halls are made by the Belle Fleur Chocolate company, of which are more well known for their boutique in Rozelle.

Furthermore, Belgium chocolate board games can be purchased at David Jones Food Halls. Think chocolate Scrabble, Monopoly and Twister to name. Chocolate pizzas are also available to purchase here, as well as a variety of chocolate products from Hotel Chocolat - a British based chocolatier. This particular chocolate brand's product made their debut in the David Jones Food Halls in late 2013.

Belgium quality chocolatier Godiva products are also available for sale in this foodie paradise. David Jones Food Halls in Australia also sell some imported chocolate treats such as chocolate coated pretzels, and other imported chocolate treats from the USA predominantly. Their stock does rotate fairly often. This is good news for chocolate lovers in Australia as some bargains can be established.

At Christmas time, the Newcastle Pudding Lady stocks their range of Christmas puddings at David Jones Food Halls - one of which is chocolate of course.

Yum

David Jones Food Halls in Sydney in particular are becoming well known for their chocolate dipped fruits. On a daily basis, both locals and visitors to Sydney can enjoy either a chocolate dipped strawberry, fig, banana, mango or date for $3-4.50 a pop. Chocolate dipped berries and cherries are also available. If you're lucky, you can watch these fruits being hand made on the premises. The chocolate only takes 10 minutes to set on each piece of fruit. After 5pm early in the week, you can buy a pack of 5-6 for only $10.
