Chocolate Nests

Simple nests for your Easter eggs. Cute and decorative for your platter. Sure favourite with the kids.
Lovely Easter treat

Ingredients
Chocolate for melting- I have used Cadbury melts. You may use any of your choice, dark, milk, white or in combination
Cereal- anything crunchy (I used Weet Bix)
Cup cake moulds or paper liners
Decorative mini-eggs (or smarties, M and Ms, gum balls)

Servings Make as per number of people

Method

  • Take the chocolate in a heat-proof bowl. Chop roughly. Melt to a smooth consistency, either in the microwave or double boiler. Take care to not burn it.

  • Take the cereal in a sealer bag (Ziploc) and with a rolling pin, lightly pound it. Make a coarse mass, do not powder it

  • Mix this cereal with the molten chocolate and mix gently.

  • Take the cupcake liners and put a spoonful. Along the walls, with the spoon, raise it slightly. Make a depression in the centre. I have used heart-shaped moulds, you may use round.

  • In this depression, press down the colourful eggs or substitutes you have chosen.

  • Use your imagination

  • Allow to set in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours.

  • Peel off the liners. Your Easter egg nests are ready to be eaten.

  • Individual nest
