Cola Pretzel Honeycomb Marvellous Creations
The last Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations bar I reviewed was the
Cookie Nut Crunch . At first I thought it was going to be the only one in the range that would appeal to me, but the other day I decided to give the Cola Pretzel Honeycomb a go.
I can't say much for the creativity of the same, which is really just a list of ingredients, but those ingredients are kind of wacky ideas to put in a chocolate bar. Okay, maybe not the honeycomb; we've all seen that countless times. But pretzels make an interesting change from biscuit pieces; they still provide a satisfactory crunch, but the sweet cookie rush has been replaced by a slightly saltier delivery.
The texture is slightly unusual at first because there is a contrast between crunch and chew due to the additional cola pieces. These come in the format of tiny cubes dotted around the bar, and although subtle, the cola flavour is definitely there.
Instead of small cubes, however, I think I would have preferred it if Cadbury went all out and provided the larger cola bottle sweets, which would have been more fun to ripping out, and added a playful extra to the experience. I also think it would have been nice if they had infused some actual coca-cola into the bar, to make its presence more known, and perhaps give a bit of fizz.
