Dairy Milk Chips Ahoy

Whoever came up with the idea of linking a chocolate chip cookie with a pirate theme has a great imagination. Although it does sound a bit weird, it really works for Cadbury's new Dairy Milk bar, Chips Ahoy! The packaging is really fun, and definitely tempts both kids and adults alike to buy it.

A fancy wrapper might make you buy it the first time, but ultimately it is the taste that keeps coming back. I was quite surprised (in a good way) by what the product turned out to be when I broke into it.



I was expecting just your standard bar of dairy milk with a few crunchy cookie pieces and chocolate chips. That was certainly one element, but what made Chips Ahoy! extra special was the creamy filling on the inside. The back of the wrapper describes the filling as 'cookie flavoured', which at first made me a bit sceptical. How can a cream be cookie flavoured? For that matter, what is cookie flavoured? We all recognise the taste, but pinning down an actual flavour is hard to describe. I consider it more of a texture than a taste.

Still, I gave it a go, and you know what? Cadbury's absolutely nailed it. It is exactly like eating a chocolate chip cookie. If you're biscuit tin is running on empty, never fear, Chips Ahoy! is here.
